Looking back to April, Kapa Oil received an invite through the Kenya Association of Manufacturers partnering with Machakos County Government – Department of Water, Irrigation, Environment, Climate Change, and Natural Resources under the then Waziri Aluanga.
Environmental conservation, being a key development priority for Machakos County Government, has been championing efforts to accelerate the achievement of the 10% national tree cover goal to address the landscape challenges posed by increased deforestation.
Kapa Oil Refineries Limited among other industries, donated 800 tree seedlings of indigenous and fruit trees.
The seedlings were collected by the County and well-tended to, and on 13th September when the tree planting exercise was carried out at the department’s Headquarters at Machakos town in the presence of the AG; Water, Irrigation, Environment, Climate Change, and Natural Resources – Stephen Ndwiki and his very able team, Ms. Jecinta Anyiso- KAM and Ms. Velonca Wanjiku – KAPA.
