Karania Foundation CSR in Machakos County

Looking back to the month of May, Kapa Oil received an invite from the County Government of Machakos, Department of Health and Emergency Services.

For a period of about six months from November 2022, Mavoko Sub – County had been getting sporadic cases of cholera affecting persons of all ages with some cases leading to death.

The outbreak was majorly attributed to poor sanitation, failure to treat drinking water, and eating contaminated food just to mention a few.

A number of control measures factors had been undertaken and communicated to stakeholders to control the spread of cholera which included supporting the County Government through Corporate Social Responsibility.

Karania Foundation provided the below items;

1. 20 bales of Jumbo Tissue.
2. 20 cartons of Tower Pink (Toilet soap).
3. 5 bags of 15 kg Classic Detergent.

The donation was collected on 25th May 2023 at Kapa premises on Mombasa Road, the activity was graced by;

3. Mr. Pius Mutunga – PHO Mavoko
4. Abednego Nzioki – PHO
5. Mr. Kishore Shah – Kapa Director

7. Mr. Jaivin Shah – Kapa Product Development
8. Ms. Velonca Wanjiku – Kapa OHS

In the same effort, Kapa Oil received a verbal invite to participate in an upcoming Mass Drug Administration (MDA) for the treatment of Soil-transmitted Helminths (worms) and bilharzia which is being championed by WHO.

The exercise is targeting all persons and children above 1 year and adults and children above 5 years respectively.

The Ministry conveyed its gratitude to the Karania Foundation through Kapa Oil Refineries Ltd for their participation and relentlessness in providing resources in Health Conservation activities.
