A festive powder room

The best and worst part of the festive season is having visitors over. It’s the best because most of the time the visitors are our friends and family that we haven’t seen in a while and we get to enjoy each other’s company over a delicious feast, but the worst part is the mess you have to clean up after everyone leaves.

We can’t help with the mess, but we can give you a few tips on how to spruce up your powder room and make it more comfortable for your guests this festive season.

First, when choosing your guest’s powder room, choose one closest to where everyone will be sitting for ease and convenience for your guests. Because no one wants to have to go up the stairs when they are pressed.

When it comes to toilet rolls, always have extra rolls close by. You never know when the roll will run out.  It is usually bad enough when you run out of toilet paper imagine how much worse it will be for your guests.

When it comes to freshness switch up the classic air freshener can for a humidifier or diffuser, they are more effective when it comes to odour control and are so much safer than candles, especially with children around.

Speaking of children, to encourage them to wash their hands after using the toilet, have a small stool next to the sink to help them reach the sink better. When they can reach better, they are more inclined to want to wash their hands.

In light of the pandemic and the increase in viral diseases, it would be better to use disposable tissues instead of a towel cloth. Another hand-washing tip is to have hand lotion close by, we all know how drying hand soap can be, so to save your guests from ashy hands you could have a hand lotion next to the sink.

And last but not least we can’t forget some entertainment. This one is a little controversial but who doesn’t appreciate a little entertainment? Even though most of us use our phones as our entertainment, that shouldn’t stop you from having a few interesting reads in your powder room.
