4 Steps To a Healthier Lifestyle

We all (hopefully), want to live healthier lifestyles, which requires us having to leave some things behind. Besides junk food and candy, there are plenty of habits that we should cut out as we strive to be the healthiest version of ourselves.

Today however, we will focus on just this four:

  1. ‘Exercise-to-fix’ mentality

Bruno Mars is not the only one who thinks that you are amazing just the way you are-we do too, and so should you! Celebrate your body, don’t try to fix it. There are so many much greater benefits to working out, that you should be after: high energy, improved mood and all round improved health. Find exercises that you enjoy, and do them regularly. If you dislike running, try swimming instead. As with anything, do not force it.

  1. Stress

Stress can negatively affect your health, both physically and mentally, if it is not dealt with appropriately. Do something you love, every single day, and you will find it easier to deal with day to day stress. If you have clinical anxiety, or are need to talk to someone beyond self-care practices, see a therapist.

  1. That one food that you cannot stand

There are tons of healthy foods to choose from, that you do not have to force cabbage down your throat if you do not like it. For a sustainable healthy diet, experiment more with other healthy foods. When you do find what you love, you’ll be eating healthy all the time!

  1. Self-defeating thoughts

And above all, guard your thoughts. The more you put yourself down, the harder it will be to be as healthy as you would like. Stop being mean to yourself. Know that you are completely capable and that you are more than enough! Give yourself more compliments going forward.
