Creating Healthy Habits

With the ongoing pandemic, a lot of us have become acutely aware of the need to sanitize to stay healthy. While that has been the focus many have forgotten the need to stay healthy in other ways. This has especially been harder on children who don’t have as much time to play outside.

So while you can’t go outside here are a few things to do together to build healthy habits.

  1. Cook together

Preparing meals with your child can help introduce healthy cooking and eating habits, and it’ll also give you the chance to turn a daily task into a great bonding experience. If you have a bigger family and you don’t want too many cooks in the kitchen, divide and conquer. Make sure to try out Rinsun Sunflower Oil to add Omega 3 & 6, vitamins and proteins that help to strengthen your body’s immune system

  1. Boost nutrition

Try letting each family member choose one or two meals per week — but set guidelines that include a protein, a healthy vegetable, and a healthy starch. Go shopping together and encourage your child to help you pick out fruits and vegetables. This goes a long way in building the habit.

  1. Create Family Time

Set aside time each week to come together as a family. Family game nights, cook outs, work outs, reading together or as simple as watching family shows together. Whatever you decide to do, make sure the activity gives everyone plenty of time for conversation and connections.

  1. Set a culture of wellness

Wellness means feeling good about yourselves, too. Is your child worried about a spelling test? Is your spouse or partner preparing for a tough presentation at work? Create a healthy family culture of encouragement and celebrate everyone’s success.
