Getting Rid Of Excess Body Fat

We know how hard it is to resist those extra yummy calories over the weekend, given that you have all the time in the world to make those mandazis your niece loves (using Chapa Mandashi, of course).

In fact, most if not all of our meals have some sort of carbohydrate. Though essential for our bodies, excess carbohydrates have various repercussions including:

  1. Weight gain: each gram of carbs contains 4 calories with most of our favorite carbs containing a lot more.
  2. Impacts negatively on blood sugar levels.
  3. Brings about digestive issues.

Portion control is your best friend. More protein and vegetables, less carbs. In case the damage is already done however, here are some of the ways you can get rid of the excessive carbs that show in unwanted areas of your body:

  1. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!

Drinking lots of water increases your rate of metabolism by approximately 24%, leading to weight loss and increasing the production of new blood and muscle cells. The glowing skin you get as a result is only but a bonus win!

  1. Planks

Doing plank exercises regularly helps to tone the belly, reduce back pains, improve flexibility, your mood, balance and posture.

  1. Crunches;

Sorry! There is no running away from regular exercise. When it comes to toning the body and improving balance, crunches help a great deal.

  1. Jogging

Because what else? It is essential to include jogging, or some form of cardio, in your daily routines. Cardio helps reduce the chances of getting a heart disease, improves mental fitness, helps to lose weight and reduce body fat levels.

We hope it’s clear that there is no magic trick. Just a balanced diet, water and exercise.
