Rinsun Blog-Wellness is The Journey not the Destination

According to the World Health Organization, Wellness is a good or satisfactory condition of existence; a state characterized by health, happiness, and prosperity; welfare. “Wellness is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.” – The World Health Organization.

As we observe Global Wellness Day, we dedicate this month to unpacking what it really means.

The purpose of the day is to ask the question: ‘Even if it’s for just one day, “How can I live a healthier and better life?” to direct the thoughts of both individuals and society towards “living well” and to raise awareness. The main aim of the day is to: recognize the value of our lives.

Here are some tips to help you on your wellness journey.

Start your day with a glass of water.

Your body goes quite a few hours without hydration as you sleep. Drinking a full glass of water in the morning can aid digestion, flush out toxins, enhance skin health and give you an energy boost.

 Begin with something positive.

Wake up and do something that inspires you like journaling, walking in nature or other hobbies. Whether it’s productive or relaxing, beginning your morning on the right foot can cultivate a positive mind-set and set the tone for the entire day.

 Eat wholesome foods

Real food is whole, single-ingredient foods that are unprocessed and free of additives. In addition, cook your meals with healthy oils like Rinsun Oil, rich in Omega 3 & 6 which are good for your heart. Ensure you eat a balanced diet.

Get at least 8 hours of sleep.

Sleep is just as important as eating healthy and exercising. From improving your productivity and concentration to helping support your overall health, getting the recommended hours of sleep per night can have a major impact on your wellbeing.

Be available for your friends and family.

We are social beings and rely on others to maintain our mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual wellness. Spending time with your loved ones can help relieve stress, increase self-esteem, and improve our overall wellbeing.

Manage your money.

Money is a big stress to most people. Investing in the future, paying rent, sorting utilities, paying off debts and loans can give us sleepless nightsTo mitigate against stress, stop comparing yourself with others or keeping up with the Joneses. Practice contentment and be grateful for what you have. Most times the stress is not caused by the money, it’s how you prioritize what you want it to do for you.
