Water Is Life

Water is life, is not an over statement, I know this all too well. Just the other day, at about 11 o’clock in the night my baby startled me with a loud cry. I know you are thinking “bad dream, right?” I thought so to; until it persisted. Of course, my hubby woke me up in panic. I pick up the baby in panic, “oh baby what’s wrong?”, I ask her. She continuous crying. I am confused. I know she is not hungry. Nor is she wet. After a couple of minutes struggling to soothe her, I realized she was constipated. I quickly went to the kitchen, got a concoction of water, salt and sugar, gave her and in a spun of two minutes she had pooped.

The following day, I researched on all possible causes of constipation, and as expected, lack of water is the most important cause, followed by lack of well saturated foods. Which brings me to this; Riley (my baby) doesn’t like water. However, because water is…life, I am not giving her a choice. What I do is give her water with oranges, glucose, anything healthy that makes water a little more inviting for her taste buds. So far oranges are winning.
For my first mother’s day, I can honestly say mummy is happy. I have a healthy girl who loves orange water, what more could I ask for?
