Phone Photography Tips

Photography is increasingly becoming a major part of our lives simply because pictures are really visual, appealing and can be used to communicate.

We all love a good photo or selfie every once in a while but granted, not every day is a good picture kinda day. Before you take fifty pictures and end up getting frustrated by each one of them (hi ladies), check out a few tips that are bound to make your work a lot easier:

  1. Lighting – This is key when it comes to taking photos. It could be outdoors, near a window or source of light like a lamp. Ensure that you know the direction and quality of this light and you’ll be good to go.
  2. Learn your angles– A good angle equals a great photo. While taking pictures, try to learn angles that work well with your face or posture and maximize on that. Guaranteed you will be happy with the outcome.
  3. Remember to focus– Most smartphones have a focus feature on the camera. Before taking a photo, always focus because it increases the clarity and brings out a good quality picture.
  4. Do not zoom– Contrary to popular belief, zooming in does not help while taking good pictures. Zooming in while taking pictures only crops down and makes them lose quality.
  5. Enjoy it– The best photos are captured when you are having fun. Play around with facial expressions, laugh and even ‘vogue’ if you want to! Trust me, it’ll show through the lens.
