Diy Tricks To Keep Your Clothes Lasting Longer

Fashion requires a huge investment in time and money. Our obsession with how we look and how we are perceived by others has led to industries springing up that all time promise to bring out the best version of ourselves. They try to achieve this through the latest trends and the most fashionable clothes.

But along the way a subculture has developed that uses DIY tips and tricks that insist that you may only have to invest in time to get the best out of your wardrobe. The added advantage is not having to break the bank to keep your clothes looking amazing and leave you feeling confident.

So here are a few ideas that will keep your clothes looking as good as new whether you bought them from a high end store or from your favorite hawker. The rules are largely the same since clothes that you treat well will undoubtedly treat you well in return.

  1. When changing out of your clothes ensure that suits and coats are aired out for at least half an hour before putting them away. Hang them out to air outside your wardrobe before putting them away. Hanging them on a chair may cause wrinkling.
  2. Do you have a favorite sweater or jacket? Most of us do, but you need to rotate them to give them a chance to breathe and regain their shape.
  3. Light fades the dyes on clothes so keep your clothes away from direct sunlight or away from windows in storage. Turn off the closet light and don’t leave garments near the window.  Also, spray your favorite perfume before you get dressed. When sprayed directly over the clothes, the alcohol in perfumes and sprays may cause discoloration.
  4. Storing wet clothes attracts mildew and the same goes for storing them in plastic bags which traps humidity.
  5. Use a detergent that not only keeps your clothes looking bright but also leaves them fresh and has extra protection for your brightly colored clothes. The ultimate plug for this is our very own Toss Bright.

Ultimately, making fashion sense means making decisions that will give you value for money to get the most out of the clothes you invest in.
