First Date Fashion

February is finally here! The month where people go on more first dates than in any other month.

It’s not easy to get yourself a first date. That said, here are five tips on how to bring the heat on your first date, as far as fashion is concerned. Because when you look good, you feel good. And when you feel good, your confidence flows and you live better:

Wear Comfortable Clothes

This cannot be stressed enough. A first date can bring enough nerves on its own. You don’t want to add to these by wearing clothing that’s too tight, or too revealing, or simply anything that makes you feel anything less than comfortable.

Choose A Color Or Outfit That You’re Often Complimented On

You know that top, or shirt, dress or pair of jeans that, when you wear, has people asking questions like “is that new?” or even “where’d you buy that?” That’s what you need to wear on a first date. It’s been tried and tested. When you have a great outfit on, and you know it’s a great outfit, it’s the closest thing to having superpowers.

You Don’t Have To Bare It All

Props to you for having the body confidence to show off some skin. However, on a first date, you should be careful as this can be off-putting. Instead, pick your favorite asset to show off.

Keep It Simple, Susan

Now look, don’t forgo your favorite piece because you’re trying not to go overboard, but when in doubt, less is more. Neutral is a good place to operate in, especially if it’s a first date. The little black dress, paired with selected accessories can definitely work.

Dress For The Type of Date

It’s important to look and feel amazing for a first date, but if you wear your LBD (little black dress) to a laid-back bar or to a movie, you’re going to look out of place which will make you uncomfortable…which may make your partner uncomfortable. Instead, dress for whatever it is you’re doing. A little birdie told us that there’s a word for women who can be easy-going, fit in anywhere and still look good doing it: Girlfriends.

It is our sincere hope that these tips make dressing for that first date even a tad less stressful. Remember that, in the end, it’s all about wearing what makes you feel good about yourself. With the right attitude, you can pull off anything. The first step on the path to be beautiful is to be you. And also doing your laundry with Toss Detergent. That also helps!
