New Year New Wardrobe!

It’s a new year. Welcome to that time of the year where the #NewYearNewMe hashtag assumes control over our social feeds. So we thought, why not jump on the bandwagon and apply the same to our closets? New Year’s time offers the perfect opportunity to reset parts of your life that have become stagnant, your wardrobe included!

Do you need a wardrobe change?

On the off chance that your closet is loaded with messy and unworn dresses, overflowing with boxes and even things that still have their labels on, we are sorry to be the bearers of bad news but you are suffering a confused closet! Before you panic though, let’s get the idea behind closet altering straight. The aim is to figure out how to make your closet and the pieces in it work for you, not make you feel bad about your impulse decisions and abandon you with nothing to wear! As an example, you may have clothes that don’t compliment your shape, skin tone or way of life. These only take up valuable real estate in your closet and will just stress for nothing every time you see them.

Old you vs new you

We all sometimes realize that we have closets brimming with different sizes from times we were slimmer and the occasions we were more a bit ‘fuller’ than we are at the moment. Fluctuating clothing size is normal. However, our closets should always reflect our present body shape. That way, every time you open your closet, you are sure to find only stuff that works for your body at the present time.

There is no compelling reason to clutch onto clothes that may never even fit you again. Not only might this make you feel unnecessarily negative about yourself, it also complicates the dreaded process of deciding what to wear, each morning.
