SAY IT WITH THE POWER SUIT

In today’s society, women are more powerful than ever before and they are going to continue to gain more power in every industry as time goes. They break down walls and break through barriers. They’ve made great strides in every single industry and they therefore need to dress as such.

One thing that every woman needs in her closet is that power suit that defines who she is and commands respect. One that gains appropriate attention to let people know that she’s in the room. One that screams “I’m a professional, I can do my job very well and I deserve to be respected”.

The power suit may look different depending on what industry you’re in. It could be a mini dress, a skirt suit, a pantsuit or even a short suit. It all depends on what industry you are in. One way to rock the look is to go with the classic black suit which works perfect for every single industry. A more non-traditional style is where you have the buttons down the side of the blazer with cropped trousers that graze the ankle. If you work in a law firm or an uber professional environment then you may want to go with the traditional wide leg trousers that go all the way down to your ankles.

The first thing that you need to look for in your power suit of choice is an excellent fit. You want it to fit you just right in the shoulders, hips and the waist down your thighs and legs. Everything should fit you as close to perfect as possible.

THE BLAZER

A more trendy look can include a blazer with sharp, in-your-face shoulders, tapering down towards the waist and giving you a nice slender effect. Have it hit down just right below your hips for a perfect fit.

THE TROUSERS

Not too tight and not too loose is the mantra here. A low waist mid-rise works well, hitting you at the very bottom at an appropriate length on your ankles. Overall the entire suit needs to have a great fit.

STRUCTURE

The suit needs to have structure. A shoulder pad with detail will give your shoulders a strong  look, giving you that standing tall vibe, commanding the attention you want in the process.
