Sweet Nothings That Mean Something

Don’t we just love looking at old couples who’ve been together for years and still have that twinkle in their eyes? Aren’t they everybody’s relationship goal? How do they keep it that way? Here are a few of our ideas:

Play

Inside jokes are amazing. They keep the two of you in sync. Doesn’t it just feel great when someone gets you? Be sure to cultivate the joking and the teasing. After all, laughter is the best medicine.

Talk

You ought to be able to tell your significant other whatever is on your mind. Yes, this includes the silly thoughts like “can ants can smell?” and “how would life be if there were robots for everything”. Candid conversation is the perfect foundation for openness and honesty.

Dream

Share your visions with each other; whether work goals, fitness or long term investment plans. The best way to grow together is to grow each other.

Hobbies

I know of a man who got a pink gaming pad for his wife and no one is allowed to touch it. In turn, the wife was so touched that she actually gave it a try and learnt how to game. Make your personal hobbies fun for each other. Ladies, this doesn’t mean you should make him do your nails; there are boundaries. Besides your personal hobbies, also find things you can do together like playing board games or going hiking.

Adventure

Make your significant other the first of the rest of your life. Discover new things together. The genuine experience of something new shared is the most exhilarating feeling.

Cheers to growing old in love!
