A Little Easter Bunny Magic in the Kitchen

Easter has a way of bringing people back into the kitchen. Maybe it is the tradition of sweet treats, or maybe it is simply the joy of making something together with family.

Either way, Easter baking does not have to be complicated. With a few simple ingredients and a little creativity, you can create festive treats that look impressive and taste even better.

Two fun options to try this season are homemade chocolate Easter eggs and a playful bunny shaped cake.

Homemade Chocolate Easter Eggs

Making chocolate Easter eggs at home is easier than most people expect.

What you need:

  • 300 g cooking chocolate
  • Easter egg moulds
  • 1 tablespoon Prestige Margarine

Method

  1. Melt the chocolate slowly using a double boiler or microwave, stirring until smooth.
  2. Lightly grease the moulds with the Prestige Margarine.
  3. Pour the melted chocolate into the moulds and rotate them gently so the chocolate coats the inside evenly.
  4. Place the moulds in the fridge for about 30 minutes until firm.
  5. Remove the halves and join them together using a little melted chocolate.

The result is a batch of homemade Easter eggs that are just as exciting as store bought ones.

A Simple Bunny Cake

A bunny cake is another fun Easter project that adds a playful touch to the dessert table.

What you need

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup Prestige Margarine
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder or 1 teaspoon vanilla flavor
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ cup milk

How to make it

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a round cake tin.
  2. Cream the Prestige Margarine and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time and mix well.
  4. Stir in the flour, baking powder, milk, and cocoa powder or vanilla flavor.
  5. Pour the batter into the cake tin and bake for 30 to 35 minutes.
  6. Once cooled, cut the cake into shapes that form a bunny face and ears.
  7. Arrange the pieces on a tray and decorate with frosting, coconut flakes, chocolate chips, or sprinkles.
