Healthy Morning Habits

This month we observe International Women’s Day by celebrating achievements women have made in society over the years. All these achievements were made possible because of (among other factors), strong women. In our health segment this month, let’s focus on healthy habits that encourage and breed stronger women.

Here are healthy morning habits that anyone can incorporate into their morning routines for a healthier and more productive day:

1. DRINK TWO GLASSES OF WATER

If all else fails and you are in a big rush in the morning, probably the most important thing you could do to start your morning off on a good and healthy note would be to drink water. Besides just feeling much healthier and more energized, it provides for a good impetus to keep drinking water throughout the rest of the day.

2. GET SOME FRESH AIR

This is a simple but highly effective trick that makes you feel more awake and refreshed. On the scientific end of things, breathing in fresh air gets more oxygen in your lungs thus increasing its amount in your bloodstream. This also helps improve your mood.

3. REFLECT

While on the topic of improving your mood, you can put yourself in a positive mindset for the day by reflecting positively on your life while engaging in morning activities like taking a shower. Reflect and highlight reasons to be grateful on any particular morning while also focusing on ways to make things better.

4. MAKE YOUR BED

Still on mental health, ensuring that you do something as simple as making your bed in the morning can make the whole difference between having a super productive day and useless one. It makes you feel a whole more organized and less stressed. Leaving a tidy bedroom behind on your way to your day’s hustle gives you a sense of responsibility which in turn puts your mind in the right frame to take on the day effectively.
